Discipline: Healthcare Revenue Cycle/Financial Services Job Type: Contract, 3+ months Salary Expectations/ Pay Rate or Range: $19.00-$22.00/hr Job Description Responsibilities/ Job Duties: • Review, prepare and transmit electronic and hard copy claims for all federal, state and third-party payers. • Monitor and work all claim edits to ensure they are fully resolved in a timely manner. • Research and identify root causes of claim edits. • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances. • Work rejected and denied claims. • Use problem solving skills to determine root cause and escalate trends to management. • Document all communications with payers, as well as all billing activities, on the patient's account with clear, concise, and accurate comments. • Conduct research for payor criteria, and prepare documents for resubmission or special projects. • Research, verify, and take appropriate actions as it relates to all pre-billing adjustments. Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements: • MUST have experience with one of the following EHR Systems - EPIC, CERNER, CENTRIQ, MediTech or THRIVE (Will not accept applicants w/o this) • 3+ Years of Hospital/Facility (UB-04) Experience (will not accept applicants who only have experience with CMS-1500 professional billing) • Diverse payer experience, government and commercial carriers • Demonstrates the ability to work independently in a remote environment on CST hours Schedule/ Shift: M-F, regular business hours in CST timezone **Hiring from all states Benefits: • Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances) • Health Benefits / Dental / Vision (Medix Offers 6 different health plans: 3 Major Medical Plans, 2 Fixed Indemnity Plans (Standard and Preferred), and 1 Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan.
